Musician, author, and all round cool guy Tom Fletcher has announced that he is writing a sequel to his highly successful children’s book, The Christmasaurus.
The Christmasaurus and the Winter Witch is due for release in October 2019 and will follow William Trundle, Bob, Brenda, Santa and, of course The Christmasaurus, on another adventure, a year later from the original story.
Tom announced the news in the only way he knows how – by uploading an epic video onto YouTube. The video sees Tom writing away on a typewriter before being interrupted by The Christmasaurus. He tells the lovable character that he is writing a sequel and runs the beginning of the story past him.
However, The Christmasaurus doesn’t give his seal of approval so Tom sets about writing a captivating new opening which gives us a glimpse into what we can expect from the sequel.

According to WHSmith, the book synopsis reads:
‘She is the best-kept Christmas secret of all,’ whispered Santa Claus. ‘Which is surprising, Christmas itself would not exist without her. She is older than time itself, yet still as young as tomorrow. She is known only as the Winter Witch.’
One year has passed since William Trundle’s incredible adventure with the most extraordinary dinosaur: the Christmasaurus. Now, William is swept back to the magical North Pole, where he meets the magical, mysterious, icy Winter Witch – whose power to control time allows Santa Claus to make the long journey all around the world every Christmas Eve. And when they learn that the fate of Christmas itself hangs in the balance, William and the Christmasaurus must work with the Winter Witch to protect it…
Full of magic and music, humour and heart, and a friendship like no other, The Christmasaurus and the Winter Witch is the most enchanting Christmas read for the whole family.
The original Christmasaurus book, released in 2016, achieved tremendous success upon its release. In 2017, a musical edition of the book was released, whilst it was also turned into a stage show starring Tom, his fellow author wife Giovanna Fletcher, his West End star sister Carrie Hope Fletcher, his McFly bandmate Harry Judd and Busted star Matt Willis.
