On this edition of Crush Alert, we bring you the king of high notes, fashion, and ever changing hairstyles – Zayn.

Who is Zayn and why do we have a crush on him?

Zayn first rose to fame as one fifth of One Direction, the X Factor-formed boyband who took the world by storm. In 2015, he announced that he would be quitting the band, and whilst fans across the globe were devastated by the news, it wasn’t long before he would resurface as a solo artist with some huge songs up his sleeve.

In January 2016, Zayn made his solo debut with the incredible ‘Pillowtalk’. The track debuted at number one on the UK Singles Chart and the US Billboard Hot 100, making him the first British artist to debut at number one in the US with a debut single. Following the release of his second single ‘Like I Would’, his debut album Mind Of Mine followed and achieved substantial success across the globe. Zayn topped the charts in the UK and US once more in addition to other countries, breaking and setting several records along the way.

Since then, Zayn has been working on the release of his second studio album. Whilst we sit tight for more information about his sophomore release, he has provided us with plenty of tracks to play on repeat including the striking ‘Dusk Till Dawn’ featuring Sia, ‘Let Me’, ‘Entertainer’, ‘Sour Diesel’ and ‘Too Much’ featuring Timbaland.

When we’re not fawning over Zayn’s stunning voice, movie-style music videos and captivating lyricism, we’re heart eyes for his fashion sense. Over the past few years, he has graced the cover of numerous fashion magazines and has worked with some of the most influential people in the industry.

Among his many fashion achievements, the singer-songwriter has released a shoe line with designer Giuseppe Zanotti, been the face of the Versus (Versace) Spring Summer 2017 campaign, worked as the creative director for the Zayn x Versus capsule collection, designed a backpack collection for The Kooples, and has fronted the Penshoppe Spring Summer 2018 collection.

We stan a king who can pull off any hair colour. We love the pink aesthetic in this image, and whilst we’ve seen Zayn channel a rainbow of hair colours over the years, we have a soft spot for the bubblegum pink.

Seeing Zayn in Action

We love all of Zayn’s music videos but in celebration of this particular one reaching one BILLION views, we’ve got to share with you the cinematic masterpiece that is ‘Dusk Till Dawn’ featuring Sia. Not only is the action packed visual completely captivating, but we cannot fault Zayn’s voice here. This is a huge track which showcases the distinct vocals of both artists perfectly, with Zayn’s high note at 4:29 being a particular highlight.
