Fuzzable Blog December 7th : Tea, Cake and a lot of love for independent businesses

Over two years ago I stumbled across an amazing little tea shop in my hometown called TranquiliTea Cake and Tea Emporium. My Mum and I decided to give it a visit, it had only been open a few weeks when first visited. We were so glad we did. We’ve been regulars ever since.

Last month Clare and her Mum Fran the owners of TranquiliTea posted on Facebook they had considered closing and not re-opening after Christmas.

They ultimately decided to stay open. They asked for suggestions on how to attract more customers.

One suggestion was changing their opening times slightly. It was a suggestion they took on board and are now busier than ever.

On a personal level, I’m glad as I’d miss going in when I’m home and having a Piri Piri Chicken Wrap or a Greek Salad (which is amazing) a cup of tea and a Scone or piece of Chocolate Cake.

TranquiliTea is one of the thousands of independent businesses across the UK that regularly struggle with competing against bigger businesses.

It got me thinking which little coffee shops and cafes do you love and would love to give a shout out to? Let us know @Fuzzable.
