The release of BLACKPINK and Selena Gomez’s “Ice Cream” was a perfect way to end the summer for fans because it brought two of their fave stars together for one deliciously good single. While BLACKPINK and Gomez didn’t physically meet up for the song’s music video, which dropped on Friday, Aug. 28, their new dance video sees them performing side by side as animated characters, offering an idea of what their MV could have looked like if it wasn’t for the coronavirus pandemic.
On Wednesday, Sept. 2, the girls worked with ZEPETO – an application from Naver that allows users to create 3-D avatars of themselves and interact with others – so they could give fans their first virtual performance of “Ice Cream.”
“We weren’t able to meet in person. We each adjusted our schedules and communicated numerous times to finish the project. I thought she was such a refreshing and cool person after seeing her share her opinions in an easygoing manner even though she’s a global star,” Jisoo said in an Aug. 18 interview with Marie Claire Korea.
Since there’s no telling when the girls will meet in person, their “Ice Cream” dance video should satisfy fans’ hunger until that day arrives. Watch BLACKPINK and Selena Gomez’s “Ice Cream” dance practice video below.
BLACKPINK’s “Ice Cream,” as well as their previous single “How You Like That,” will be featured on their upcoming debut album, which will drop on Oct. 2.
