Sophia Scott unveils new single: ‘Strangers Again’

A country-influenced pop artist with an unapologetic honesty to write songs which are extremely relatable, Sophia Scott has unveiled her new single “Strangers Again.” The brand new track, released on September 28, 2018, is now available everywhere. It is a powerful, heartfelt meditation on falling in and out of love. There is a sorrowful yet poetic complex that arises in a breakup, as someone you loved so deeply is removed from your future and becomes, as she puts it, a “stranger again.” It’s a buoyant and vibrant track that addresses a poignant and deeply relatable topic.

Scott’s soaring vocals, vulnerable yet empowering lyricism, and slick pop melodies put a twist on the oft male-dominated country genre. Sophia has been linked to various genres but after you take a listen to her music, you’ll realize she doesn’t fit a specific mold. Influenced by pop, country, R&B and classic rock, she has created a fresh, delightful, liberated sound, completely unrestricted by genre.

As music continues to test the limits, bend genres with unconventional collaborations, she has established herself as an artist with an edgy new twist on country/pop music. Born in Colorado and now based in Los-Angeles, Sophia grew up on classic rock, R&B, and country/soul. She developed an admiration for the legends like Tom Petty, James Taylor, Fleetwood Mac, etc. just as much as Mariah Carey, TLC, and Toni Braxton. However, that one time she heard the album Come On Over by Shania Twain, she knew she would sing country music one day.

Sophia started gaining attraction by posting YouTube covers that she would record with only a guitar and a mic. Her fans and followers consistently demanded her on delivering a strong and effortless vocal. Her powerful cover of Rihanna’s “Love On The Brain” has over 1 million views and her bluesy cover of Chris Stapleton’s “Tennessee Whiskey” has been picked up by almost every major country blog. While grabbing a guitar and belting out a cover is still her favorite party trick, Sophia is ready to establish herself as a story teller with an inventive, fresh sound.

Over the last year, Scott has released a successful string of originals, including “White Fence” (which debuted on Spotify’s New Music) and “Quit.” While grabbing a guitar and belting out a cover is still her favorite party trick, Scott is ready to establish herself as a story teller with an inventive, fresh sound.
