Sometimes slowing things down is a good thing. After Sophia Scott released her newest single, “White Fence,” she decided to release an acoustic version of it!
With the original being added on Spotify’s highly-coveted New Music Friday playlist and quickly gaining over 160K streams, it was smart and cool of her to make an acoustic version.
If you don’t know who Sophia Scott, we’ll quickly update you! First of all, this Los Angeles based artist is NOT restricted by genre. Her music is a mix of country, pop, and R&B. She started getting noticed by posting YouTube covers that she recorded in her bedroom with just a guitar and a mic.
With tons of hard work, it was her powerful cover of Rihanna’s “Love On The Brain” that captured people’s attention the most. She got over 1 million views! That led to her cover of Chris Stapleton’s “Tennessee Whiskey” being picked up by almost every major country blog.
Now, with her acoustic version of “White Fence,” Sophia is here to show the world that she doesn’t just do cover songs. “I wanted to write a song that gave a voice to female empowerment,” Sophia exclusively told CelebMix.
She continued saying, “Since this message has been slightly lost on some of my listeners, I want to clarify that this song is not intended to put down the nuclear family or diss anyone in a relationship. I want people to hear this song and feel confident about wherever they are in their lives. Whether it’s a white fence or something else no one should feel obligated to live up to anyone else’s expectation. People should do what makes them happy regardless of any societal norm.”
In addition to the release of the “White Fence” acoustic video, Sophia will also be performing in Los Angeles at Hotel Cafe this TODAY! You can get your tickets to that right now HERE.
