With her new single “OOMS,” New York City-based songstress EVVY stays calm in the face of a storm. Sparkly electro-pop artist EVVY has taken the last few years to refocus on herself but now she’s back and ready to reclaim her spot as New York’s resident pop darling. EVVY is making a grand return today with the release of her first single in four years titled “OOMS” (Out Of My System). “OOMS” talks about the singer’s battle with anxiety and depressing and taking these inner ‘demons’ Out Of Her System!!
A glittery electro-pop effort, “OOMS” is the perfect reintroduction to the New York artist who first garnered buzz back in the year 2015 with her self-titled EP and follow up single “Tidal Wave.” Garnering over 8M+ streams as well as support and likes of big media and publications, EVVY was set for stardom. But unfortunately, after receiving unfortunate news about a family member’s health, she chose to take a step back from the music industry and stay back with the family. Spending the past few years on refocusing herself and her priorities, EVVY has finally decided to return to music with more passion and determination than ever before.
“OOMS” is co-written with Brandon Colbein who has previously worked with music legends such as ZAYN, Liam Payne, Hayley Kiyoko, etc and produced by Chris Lyon who has worked with notable artists like The Chainsmokers and Carly Rae Jepsen. during a trip to LA. On the meaning of the track, EVVY writes,
“‘OOMS’ (Out of My System) was written during a time where I confronted the anxiety and depression that I had let take over my life.” The single shows her coming out of the past few years stronger than ever and expelling her inner demons “out of [her] system].”
