The Oscars 2019 Best Dressed

The Academy Awards are one of the biggest nights on the Hollywood calendar, with a strict and formal ‘white tie’ dress code providing us with some incredible and jaw-dropping looks that are guaranteed to get people talking. As ever, the ceremony featured a glamorous guest list who were all keen to get their best red carpet moment, dripping in diamonds and designer. And we’ve rounded up some of our favourite outfits from the star-studded event that we just had to share.

Billy Porter

Kicking off this best dressed list is Billy Porter, who arrived to the Oscars red carpet wearing a custom tuxedo dress by Christian Siriano. The velvet look featured silk lapels, white ruffled sleeves, a black bow tie, and a voluminous ball skirt.

Lady Gaga

Lady Gaga picked up the Oscar for ‘Best Original Song’, but before that stunned onlookers with a strapless Alexander McQueen ball gown on the red carpet. The dress featured a sculptured waist and she paired it with black elbow-length gloves. Oh, and a $30 million yellow diamond necklace from Tiffany & Co.

Chris Evans

Before he made headlines for helping Regina King onto the stage, he walked the red carpet in a custom Salvatore Ferragamo velvet suit jacket in a turquoise blue. He paired the jacket with a traditional white shirt and black bow tie.

Emma Stone

‘The Favourite’ star and ‘Best Supporting Actress’ nominee Emma Stone blessed the red carpet in an amber custom Louis Vuitton gown covered in jewelled embellishments. She paired the ballgown with accessories from Louis Vuitton High Jewelry Collection.

Jason Momoa

The Aquaman star turned heads as he matched outfits with wife Lisa Bonet on the red carpet. While Jason sported a blush-coloured velvet two-piece with black detailing, Lisa stunned in a complementing pale pink gown. And
Eagle-eyed fans will also have noticed Jason’s matching pink velvet scrunchy around his wrist. Both outfits were designed by Karl Lagerfeld prior to the fashion legend’s death this month.

Emilia Clarke

The Game of Thrones actress dazzled in a strapless shimmery metallic Balmain gown in a dusty lilac hue. She paired the dress with drop earrings and chainlink bracelet.
