Welcome to the Fuzzmas Advent Awards, a series running every day throughout December celebrating all our favourite things from 2018. Today we’re counting down our top five Fashion Events from 2018.
5. The 90th Oscars
Hollywoods biggest night of the year had its 90th-anniversary ceremony back in March. As ever, it was a night to remember and the star-studded red carpet was no exception. This year was particularly special with the red carpet being used to lend support to the #MeToo movement. Other celebrities wore orange pins in support of gun control reform.
Among the best dressed were Allison Williams, Gina Rodriguez and Margot Robbie, all of who wore angelic gowns that sparkled from head-to-toe. Nicole Kidman also wowed in her bright blue ‘bow’ gown from Armani Privé.
4. Ralph Lauren’s 50th Anniversary Show
Ralph Lauren’s 50th Anniversary Show in September saw the likes of Oprah, Tom Hiddleston and even Kanye West turn up to celebrate the milestone. Set in New York’s Bethesda Terrace and Fountain in Central Park, the celebrations included a runway show and seated dinner.
The now-married Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas turned heads on the red carpet, wearing contrasting outfits.
3. Fashion Awards 2018
The annual event celebrates the previous 12 months of fashion with a ceremony at the Royal Albert Hall. The big winners included Gucci, who took home Brand of the Year, and Kaia Gerber, who was crowned Model of the Year.
2. The MET Gala
The annual MET Gala is undoubtedly the biggest event on the fashion calendar, although it just misses out on the top spot. This year’s theme was ‘Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination‘, and saw the Metropolitan Museum of Art borrow more than 40 items from the Sacristy.
Blake Lively takes the crown for ‘Best Dressed’ as she stunned in an ornate ruby and gold Versace gown that took a total of 600 hours to create. Our other favourites include Zendaya’s ‘Joan of Arc’ look and Rihanna, who wowed with a real Papal tiara that was studded with 18,000 diamonds.

1. The Royal Wedding
Taking the top spot and the crown for Fashion Event of 2018 is the Royal Wedding. Meghan Markle’s wedding dress was the talk of everyone and anyone in the months leading up to the Royal Wedding. And the big reveal did not disappoint. But Harry and Megan weren’t the only ones heading for Windsor Castle back in May.
The wedding saw many celebrity attendees, some of which stunned with their stylish attire. Amongst the best-dressed were fashionista couple David and Victoria Beckham. Victoria wore a deep blue dress of her own design, while David sported a three-piece grey and black suit.
Joining them was George Clooney and wife Amal, who stunned in a bright yellow Stella McCartney dress with a matching hat. George matched this yellow cue with a lighter shade on his tie and pocket square, with was paired with his suit.
