Welcome to Fuzzable’s Crush Alert, a section of our site where we bring you the hottest celebrities and influencers. We want to give you a reason to take a break from your busy day and spend your chill time reveling in the greatness of our chosen crush.

On this edition of Crush Alert, we are spotlighting Normani Kordei, otherwise known by her stage name, Normani.

Who is Normani and why do we have a crush on her?

Everyone may know Normani’s name now, but not everyone may know where she got her start in music. In 2012, Normani took part in the second season of The X Factor USA. While she was eliminated in the early rounds of the season, she was brought back by the judges to be put into a girl group with Ally Brooke, Lauren Jauregui, Dinah Jane, and Camila Cabello that would eventually become Fifth Harmony. Fifth Harmony released an EP and three albums and took over radio stations with their singles “Worth It” and “Work From Home.”

From the beginning, Normani caught the attention of fans for her star power and stage persona. She was definitely a stand-member in the group. You can watch Normani in action in Fifth Harmony’s music video for “Work From Home” below.

While still a member of Fifth Harmony, Normani used to post covers of her favorite songs to her personal YouTube channel. She also posted mashups of songs such as Drake’s “Fake Love” and “Sneakin’.” These covers gave fans an idea of who Normani wanted to be as a solo artist.

In 2017, Normani really had the chance to show off her talent for dance while participating in the 24th season of Dancing With The Stars. Of course, Fifth Harmony fans were already rooting for her, but Normani’s participation in the reality series also attracted new fans to her music. She and her partner Valentin Chmerkovskiy went all the way to the finals and finished in third place.

In 2018, Normani collaborated with Khalid for the single “Love Lies.” The song blew up and really cemented Normani as a solo artist dipping into pop and R&B genres. Normani surprised everyone with her 2018 Billboard performance of “Love Lies” with Khalid. She showcased both perfect vocals and mind-blowing, sensual choreography.

In 2018, Normani also collaborated with 6LACK for “Waves” and Sam Smith for “Dancing with a Stranger,”‘ the latter of which peaked at No. 7 on the Billboard Hot 100. Then in 2019, Normani toured alongside Ariana Grande on her Sweetener world tour, where she made many new fans along the way, who excitedly waited for her to release her debut solo single. Normani’s “Motivation,” which was co-written by Ariana Grande, came out in August.

Denim on denim? Only Normani can make that work! (Besides Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears, obviously.)
