Here at Fuzzable HQ, The Theatre Cafe in St Martin’s Lane, London is one of our favourite places to visit. Located in the heart of the glittering West End, not only is it a fabulous cafe but it’s also one of the stagiest places you’ll ever visit.
If you’ve yet to witness the glory of The Theatre Cafe for yourself, here’s five reasons why you need to visit next time you’re in London!
It has delicious theatre inspired food and drink
First and foremost, The Theatre Cafe is indeed a cafe and it is packed with tasty treats and theatre themed beverages which will fill your stagey heart. Drinks include Defying Gravi-tea, My Fair Latte, and Divorced, Beheaded, Dyed milkshakes, whilst you can dine on a selection of divine sweet and savoury goods or enjoy an afternoon tea. We always like to channel our inner Jenna Hunterson with a slice of apple pie!
It is packed with theatre memorabilia
Everywhere you turn, this stagey cafe is decorated with incredible theatre memorabilia. Each table is dedicated to a particular show, whilst the chairs feature the names of some of theatre’s brightest stars (The Theatre Cafe also celebrates theatre’s multi-talented swings each week by dedicating a chair to them).
All of the coffee cups are based on the latest West End shows whilst specific areas of the cafe also pay homage of a range of shows including Six, Mary Poppins, Wicked, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, and more! Even the toilets have signed theatre posters as well as a light up mirror which offers the perfect selfie opportunity. You’ll definitely want to take a picture of everything!
There’s a jukebox so you can have the ultimate stagey singalong
As soon as you enter the cafe, you’ll be transported into the world of musical theatre, with songs from various shows playing on the jukebox. Of course, you can also add your favourite tracks to the list, so sit back and relax with your snack whilst you wait for your signature show tune to play! There’s such a great atmosphere in the cafe, you’ll never want to leave!
