Ambient Noise Web App ‘Sounds of New York’ Launches Today

New York City is one of the most popular destinations for people to visit. There are just so many places in the city that are a must-see. However, if you don’t live on the East Coast, or even in the United States, visiting NYC may be difficult. So what if we told you there was a way to experience the memories of being in the Big Apple without leaving your home? With ‘Sounds of New York,’ the city is just a click away!

What exactly is Sounds of New York?

‘Sounds of New York’ is an app powered by Breather that allows users to hear sounds from some of New York’s most iconic locations.

How does it work?

You can access ‘Sounds of New York’ by clicking here. Once you’re there, you will see a list of 20+ NY locations. Simply click on the location you wish to hear. By clicking on a location, it will also give you information about where the sounds are exactly coming from. For example, the sounds from Chinatown come from the Hong Kong Supermarket, Columbus Park, and Nom Wah Tea Parlour. This means if you’re ever in the Big Apple and want to hear these sounds in person, you now have a list of amazing locations to visit.

Why should I use it?

‘Sounds of New York’ is perfect to use if you are ever in need of background noise while you work, study, or relax. There are currently 26 locations available that will make you feel like you are really in the city, whether that be in a restaurant, theater, hotel, or bookstore. The locations included in ‘Sounds of New York’ will be expanding soon as the creators record more sounds.
