Why We Love: Drink Neuro Founder Sanela Diana Jenkins

Sanela Diana Jenkins is the ultimate entrepreneur. She is the founder of multiple businesses including Drink Neuro and is also a major philanthropist.

In 2009 she founded Neuro drinks, “Drinks with a purpose.”

The drinks are vegan and only contain 35 calories per bottle. They reflect her commitment to healthy living and environmental sustainability. Jenkins designed Neuro so that it contains no artificial flavours or colours and every distinctively shaped Neuro bottle is fully recyclable.

She is also creative director/ majority owner of one of our all-time favourite swimwear companies Melissa Odabash Swimwear.

The company was established over 10 years ago and is now one of the top swimwear companies with many A-List celebrities wearing their designs.

Our two favourite pieces are these:

The Santa Cruz suit.

And the Cali Striped suit set.

She is also the founder and CEO of D Empire Entertainment —a full-service music label that represents emerging and established artists within the intersection of traditional and innovative media strategy, branding, publicity, recording, distribution and licensing.  Singer/ Songwriter  Asher Monroe is signed to the label and also helps to co-run it.

Besides having a phenomenal eye for business and entrepreneurial activities, Diana is also a philanthropist who has raised and donated many millions of dollars for a variety of causes including Haiti, Darfur, Bosnia, and AIDS research.

Diana established The Sanela Diana Jenkins Foundation for Bosnia and Herzegovina in Memory of Irnis Ćatić, her brother who was sadly murdered at the age of 21 just days before the Dayton Accord ended the war in her homeland. The Foundation, which is closely associated with the funding of the medical school at the University of Sarajevo, aims to provide financial support toward establishing Bosnian schools and orphanages. it is instrumental in building homes, supplying emergency aid & relief, and cleaning the country’s lakes and polluted areas. The Foundation is the largest privately funded Bosnian organization of its kind.

Together with actor George Clooney, Jenkins raised €10,000,000 for Darfur and the “Not on Our Watch” organization.

When an earthquake struck  Haiti in 2010, Diana was on the ground, helping thousands of people get food, water, and shelter. the Jenkins/Penn Haitian Relief Organization (J/P HRO) is an on-going project, providing on-the-ground aid in the aftermath.

Jenkins has been a substantial contributor and fundraiser for the Elton John Aids Foundation. She is a recent recipient of the Enduring Vision award from the same organization.

As a human rights activist, she has been closely involved at the intersection between human rights and international law. In 2008, she founded the Sanela Diana Jenkins Human Rights Project at the UCLA School of Law.

Her company Neuro Drinks has also sponsored Elton John’s Aids Foundation annual Academy Awards Viewing party for a number of years. She is close friends with both and has championed the work Elton’s foundation has done for many years.

Here at Fuzzable, we think Diana is proof that you can achieve great things if you have the determination and believe in yourself. She continues to show that you can be successful in business but still find time to help others to have a better life.
