Dougie Poynter is known for many things, whether its being McFly and INK’s bassist, a childrens author, model, actor and former king of the ‘I’m A Celebrity’ jungle. It’s safe to say that Dougie has various outlets for his creative mind. One thing Dougie has always had a massive passion for is fashion. Doug’s latest project has mixed his creativity with his love of fashion to bring a new clothing range Polonius.
The brand gave the public an insight of the story and inspiration of the line.
Polonius is an ode to the romance and nostalgia of Rock and Roll.Creative Director, Dougie Poynter is inspired by the meeting of his great passions; music and acting, and how these two important aspects of his life translated into something more. Stemming from an fascination of how the theatre once used to stage the plays of Shakespeare then become a home to rock bands of the 60’s and 90’s, Poynter explores the allure and legacy of these liminal spaces and the artists who occupied them.Polonius is a homage to some of these stars.
The site launched yesterday, and since then already some items have become sold out, however we’ve picked our favourites from Polonious below.
Silver jumper in red and navy – £95;

This jumper is an essential in your wardrobe this autumn. The slouch design makes for comfortable wear, but the bold colour makes it effortlessly stylish for both men and ladies. We’re feeling massive Nirvana vibes with this piece.
The Tybalt Shirt £75

The grey hues in this shirt mixed with the floral print look like they’ve just come off the runway at fashion week. We’re so happy that 90’s band The Smashing Pumpkins incredible style is being brought into 2018.
Park Life Tracksuit Bottoms £65

90’s rock music wasn’t all heavy guitars and leather jackets, bands like Limp Bizkit and Blur took centre stage when it came to more relaxed and vibrant fashion. Those trends have lived on heavily ever since. Doug created an awesome 2 part set which wouldn’t just look hot at the gym or on days of home chilling; this would look awesome with a crop top for festival wear too!
To showcase the line further Dougie’s pal YouTuber and fashion fanatic Jim Chapman explored the range with Dougie in a ‘New in Fashion’ video on Jim’s 2.4 million subscriber YouTube channel.
