Pop-punk band Chase Your Words released the music video for their latest single, “Battle Scars.” The song is off their upcoming EP, Sayonara, which will drop on July 5.
“Battle Scars” was released as a single on May 17, making it Chase Your Words’ latest release. Already, the song has made its way onto Spotify’s “New Punk Tracks” playlist. “Battle Scars” sticks to the band’s self-proclaimed brand of “romantic-ish pop-punk,” with its yearning lyrics and catchy melody. The music video integrates humour into its storyline as it follows lead singer, Chris Siglos, in his journey both looking for new love and getting over a past relationship.
In addition to singer and guitarist, Siglos, the British Columbia-based band is also compiled of guitarist James Songalia and drummer Alex Johrden. Prior to releasing “Battle Scars,” the band put out Acoustics, a four-song EP with acoustic versions of previous releases as well as one new song, “Darling/ One Four Three.” The band is currently on a Canadian tour with Bellevue and will soon embark on their tour with Luna Coast. This September, they will play Vancouver’s Westward Music Festival alongside bands, The Wonder Years and Chief State, at the Vogue Theatre.
