Chanel has announced the launch of its first ever makeup line for men, Boy de Chanel.
The collection, named after Boy Capel (the lover and muse of Gabrielle Chanel), will launch next month and includes three “essential” male grooming products… a tinted fluid foundation, a lip balm, and eyebrow pencil.
In a statement released to WWD the French fashion house said:
“Just as Gabrielle Chanel borrowed elements from the men’s wardrobe to dress women, Chanel draws inspiration from the women’s world to write the vocabulary of a new personal aesthetic for men.”
“Lines, colors, attitudes, gestures… there is no absolutely feminine or masculine prerequisite: Style alone defines the person we wish to be.”
“By creating Boy de Chanel, its first makeup line for men, Chanel reaffirms the ever-changing codes of an unchanging vision: Beauty is not a matter of gender, it is a matter of style.”
LE TINT
Available in four different shades, the Le Tint tinted fluid foundation boasts of a creating “second-skin” effect which has “undetectable” results.
Combined with SPF 25 sunscreen, the foundation protects the skin and naturally corrects complexion with a sheer touch, ensuring that skin breathes and stays hydrated.
LE STYLO SOURCILS
The elegant Le Stylo Sourcils eyebrow pencil features a spiral brush with a retractable, tapered twist-off tip on one end, with the brow pencil on the other (end), helping to define the perfect brow line in just three simple steps – grooming, dabbing and blending.
LE BAUME LÈVRES
Formulated with Jojoba Oil, Shea Butter, and an Antioxidant Vitamin E derivative, the Le Baume Lèvres matte lip balm not only protects and moisturizes, but also softens and hydrates the lips for up to eight-hours-long with a feather-weight of texture.
The Boy de Chanel Collection is set to be released in South Korea on September 1st, before being rolled out to the rest of the world in November on the house’s e-commerce platforms and in January 2019 in Chanel’s boutiques.
