Rita Ora Returns to Music Stronger Than Ever

Rita Ora is a breakout British singer and actress, and with her sophomore album coming up, she’s not going anywhere anytime soon.

Rita Ora’s first studio album, Ora, was released in August 2012, and it spawned the hit singles “How We Do (Party)” and “R.I.P.” featuring Tinie Tempah, which both peaked at number 1 on the U.K. singles chart. If this wasn’t enough, her name was plastered everywhere with the release of “Black Widow,” a collaboration between her and Iggy Azalea, in 2014. The massively successful single charted at number 3 in the U.S. and number 4 in the U.K.

In addition to her music, Ora is known for her role as Mia Grey, Christian Grey’s sister, in the Fifty Shades films – the most recent and final of which just released on February 9, 2018. Eurogamer reported that she has been cast in an unspecified role in Detective Pikachu, the upcoming live-action Pokémon film starring Ryan Reynolds as the titular mouse.

After taking a hiatus from music, Rita Ora valiantly returned with two new singles in 2017. “Anywhere” finds a hopeful Rita Ora professing her love and dream of running away with someone, while “Your Song” is a poppy ballad overlaying an infectiously bubbly beat. Both of these singles charted in the top 10 in the U.K. 2017 also saw the release of “Lonely Together,” a collaboration with Avicii.

It’s only fitting due to her role in the franchise, but Rita Ora is featured on the Fifty Shades Freed soundtrack via a song titled “For You” that features Liam Payne. The sultry jam showcases how far Ora has progressed vocally and leaves nothing to be desired. With a bop like this, our excitement for her unnamed sophomore album is soaring.
