Podcasts are ever growing in popularity and there are currently thousands available on the Internet for your listening pleasure which cover a wide range of genres including pop culture, lifestyle, music, comedy, food, and more.
Whether you need something different to listen to or are new to the world of podcasts, we’ve rounded up five of our current favourites which we really think you should be listening to.
The Off Menu podcast comes courtesy of two of comedy’s funniest names: Ed Gamble and James Acaster. Each week, a different celebrity enters the duo’s dream restaurant (where James is a genie waiter, obvs), and shares what they would pick as their starter, main course, side dish and desert. It’s such a simple concept, yet made thoroughly entertaining by Ed and James’ opinions, POPPADOMS OR BREAD???, and the hilarious stories shared by the duo and their guest. This is a must listen to podcast if you’re a fan of food, Ed and James, or simply just want to laugh all day long.
The Receipts podcast is brought to you by Audrey, Tolly and Milena, who offer no holds barred discussions about life. Whether it’s relationships, situations or everyday life experiences, this trio will tell you how it is in a fun, sassy and relatable manner. There’s absolutely no filter when it comes to The Receipts girls and we couldn’t love them more for it.
Shagged, Married, Annoyed
Comedian Chris Ramsey and his wife Rosie have become a huge hit over the past few months thanks to their Shagged, Married, Annoyed podcast. Offering an honest account of family life, this hilarious podcast sees Chris and Rosie discuss relationships, arguments, annoyances, parenting, growing up and everything in between. During each podcast, they also answer questions from the public as well as a celebrity guest.
Red Cup Party
The Vamps’ Connor Ball and his pal Josh Collins recently started the Red Cup Party podcast, where the party loving guys share their crazy night out stories and also encourage you to share your wildest stories too. The first series has just wrapped up, with the pair being joined by the likes of Alex Hobern, Joe Tasker and Mark Ferris.
Hollyoaks – Don’t Filter Feelings
Finally, we have a podcast from soap opera Hollyoaks. On screen, the show has been tackling a number of important issues for quite some time including mental health, self harm and diversity, and have since adopted the hashtag Don’t Filter Feelings to explore these themes. Now, they’ve gone one step further by launching a podcast of the same name. During each episode, Lauren Layfield is joined by cast members and other influencers who share their stories about the subjects which are important to them including autism, the dangers of social media, surrogacy and more.
