Viola Davis (How to Get Away with Murder) and Kerry Washington (Scandal)

Everything You Need to Know Before the Scandal and How to Get Away with Murder Crossover Event

Shonda Rhimes fans: This week is for you! The Shondaland Scandal and How to Get Away with Murder crossover event is finally here. Airing this Thursday, March 1, viewers will finally see the worlds of Olivia Pope (Kerry Washington) and Annalise Keating (Viola Davis) collide.

Scandal finds itself in its seventh and final season, so it was now or never for a crossover. And we’re glad it’s now. Essence revealed some photos from the episodes, and Olivia and Annalise together appears to be nothing short of a magical Shondaland moment.

Annalise has come to Washington D.C. to enlist Olivia’s help in getting her case to the Supreme Court, but Olivia’s reputation in the nation’s capital isn’t exactly stellar as of late. Annalise’s mother, portrayed by Cicely Tyson, is also involved in the mix based on Essence‘s photos.

Viola Davis told Entertainment Weekly that the crossover is “black girl magic on steroids,” while Kerry Washington gushed over her respect and admiration for Davis. Honestly, with two well-established shows and two stunningly powerful actresses, we can’t wait for this Shondaland crossover! With Scandal only having a handful of episodes left, it will be interesting to see how this crossover affects the remaining episodes and leads toward the series’ finale.

The back-to-back episodes, titled “Allow Me to Reintroduce Myself” and “Lahey v. Commonwealth of Pennsylvania,” air this Thursday, March 1, at 9 and 10 pm EST, respectively. As always, comment below and tweet us @Fuzzable with your excitement for this Shondaland crossover!
