Valentine’s Day is a great way to celebrate and reflect on your current relationship. But for those that are single, it’s not always the most anticipated day of the year. Besides reminding you that you are not currently dating, Valentine’s Day can be a real bummer for many people.
The good news is, it doesn’t have to be that way. Enjoying your Valentine’s Day, even if you are single, is all about attitude and perspective. I recall one of my own almost disastrous Valentine’s Days several years ago that ended up turning out better than expected. I had plans for dinner with a few of my single girlfriends but ended up cracking one of my teeth during a quick lunch at the office. Thanks to Emergency Dentists USA I was able to see a dentist right away, made it to dinner with my friends and ended up meeting my future husband later that night.
So unless you have your own dental emergency, there is no reason not to get out and enjoy the day with friends. Here are a few great ideas to help make this your best Valentine’s Day, ever even if you are single.
Host A Pajama Party
Gather up all of your single friends and put on your comfiest pajamas for a slumber party. Treat yourself to some yummy snacks, maybe some wine and watch your favorite romantic comedy or play some fun board games, all in the great company of your closest friends.
Go To A Ball
You never know who you might meet at a masquerade ball. Get dressed up with your friends and head out on the town for a night of mystery, dancing and maybe even romance. Get into character and enjoy being anonymous in a crowds and have a “ball”.
Watch A Game
If you and the boys are flying solo, why not avoid the Valentine’s crowd and head out to see your favorite sports team. Start out with dinner at a rockin’ sports pub to get in the mood and then get ready to cheer on your team.
Offer to babysit for the night for family or friends so that they can go out for a proper Valentine’s date. Your friends will owe you a big favor and you will have a blast with the kids. There’s nothing better than trying to keep up with children to make you forget about being single on Valentine’s Day.
Spoil yourself with a full spa treatment and massage. There is no reason to not feel your best and look your best any day of the year. Relax away the stress of your day and go home feeling better than ever.
Get out and hit the shops and treat yourself to some new things. If you don’t feel like going out, you can always stay in and shop online while bingeing on your favorite Netflix show. Buy that book you have been waiting to read, or even book a vacation for next Valentine’s Day.
