At Fuzzable, today we are going to introduce you to musical trio RØYLS, a rising band who is back with the release of the official music video for their debut single, “Savages”. The debut single was earlier released on April 12. Filmed in Los Angeles, the video was directed by Erik Rojas – the director behind previous music videos for Jessie J, Dillon Francis, Chase Atlantic and, and Foote – and brings the high-energy single to life.
Three-piece band RØYLS is the brainchild of Sean Killeen (at vocals/guitar), Liam Ross ( at bass/vocals), and Drew Dirksen (at vocals/guitar). The three of them are no strangers to the industry, previously performing in other successful bands such as Over Atlantic and The Tide. All hailing from different parts of the globe, the guys convened in Los Angeles in Fall 2018 to begin writing together. Instantly clicking as songwriters, musicians, and people, RØYLS was swiftly born. Their debut single “Savages” was released via Big Noise / InGrooves that marks what is set to be an extremely exciting journey for the band.
The single was co-written with and produced by legendary songwriter John Feldmann who has worked with notable artists such as 5 Seconds of Summer, Good Charlotte, Blink 182, and Panic! At The Disco. On their experience of working together with John, they say, “John is a huge role model for us with his work ethic. He is one of the most spontaneous, high energy, creative people we’ve ever worked with. We’ve been so blessed to do this project with him by our side.”
“Savages” was an immediate hit, quickly racking up over 450K+ cumulative streams and support from fans across the globe. ‘Savages’ is filled with sounds of pop, rock, and electronica, contributing to the high-energy breakout single. As explained by the band, the track is “based upon a failing relationship. It’s the struggles towards the end as you care so much about this person that you don’t want to call it quits, but it’s hurting both of you so much more trying to repair what went wrong.”
RØYLS was named as a “band you need to know” in Alternative Press’ #370 print issue and has already received glowing praise from Radio Disney, idobi Radio, The New Nine, and CelebMix, among others.
