Welcome back to Fuzzable, where we’re back with our first weekly hits playlist of 2019. Going into the new year, we were more excited than ever to see all of the stellar music that would be released. Despite being only a week into 2019, we are already being graced with new music, and this week’s playlist is dedicated to showcasing it alongside some older songs so that there is something for everybody.
Our weekly hits can be found on Spotify here:
Opening the playlist this week (and what will honestly probably open it for a while) is “Halfway There” by ROZES. This song marks a turn in her sound, and yet her voice glides and soars like never before. The song is beautiful and powerful and we have it on repeat every single day.
Other new tracks include Post Malone and Swae Lee’s “Sunflower” from Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. We’ve been obsessed with this film and soundtrack, so it only felt right to honor it on our playlist. Lizzo also debuts on our list this week with her new track “Juice,” which is poppy and brilliant and shows wholeheartedly her resilience.
Billie Eilish returns to our playlist (we previously had “when the party’s over” on our list) with her Khalid-partnered “lovely.” The two blend together perfectly, creating a sonically-unique experience for each listener. Finally, Ellie Goulding returns with “Close to Me” – a collaboration with Diplo and Swae Lee. We never thought we’d see these three on a track together, but put simply, it works.
Quite a few songs return from previous playlists, including Charli XCX and Troye Sivan’s “1999” and Ariana Grande’s “thank u, next” because we simply cannot get enough of them. However, to start the new year, we have simplified the track from near 50 songs down to around 25, so that we have room to grow and change in the coming weeks and months.
Again, if you would like to check out our playlist, it can be found on Spotify here:
