In his press release, he talks about what Staying In (linked below) is about.
London singer-songwriter Danny Wright will release his debut single Staying In on 23rd June. The acoustic-driven pop-punk song combines hard-hitting lyrics with soaring melodies and marks the arrival of a new talent on the UK pop scene.Danny Wright is a self-taught, self-made singer, guitarist, songwriter and actor who rarely fits neatly into one stereotypical box. A former frontman of touring rock bands DissolvedIN and We Are Lost Boys, he played all over the world, performed at Download festival and enjoyed press acclaim from Kerrang! magazine. Now a solo artist with a clutch of pop-influenced and intensely personal new songs to unveil (helmed by You Me At Six/Lower Than Atlantis producer John Mitchell), he is taking the next step in what’s set to be a long career.“The song is about anxiety and crippling ambition,” says Danny of his debut release. “I actually started writing it a long time ago, but I never finished it due to what I thought was writer’s block. I’ve been sitting on some songs for years telling myself they are not ready. Last year I had an extreme anxiety attack and was rushed to A+E, and afterwards I had therapy sessions – which was one of the best things I ever did. In those sessions, I learned a lot about my behaviours, my habits and my demons. ‘Staying In’ is about the process of creating, and because of that psychological breakthrough it became almost effortless to finally finish.”Danny Wright will be playing live shows in support of the new single.
