Five free workouts you can enjoy in the comfort of your own home

Thanks to the current global pandemic, having to stay at home means that you might be missing out on your usual exercise regime. Whilst going to the gym is out of the question for the time being, thankfully the internet has become flooded with virtual classes which are designed to help keep you moving during this difficult time.

Whether you’re into HIIT workouts, dance or yoga, we’ve rounded up five of our favourite fun (and free!) workouts which can be enjoyed at home by all the family.

PE with Joe Wicks

Since being in lockdown, Joe Wicks (also known as the Body Coach) has become the nation’s PE teacher, holding virtual 30 minute PE classes for children on YouTube every week day! Whilst these classes were initially targeted towards children, they’re suitable for people of all ages and all abilities. Joe’s channel also includes a range of other exercise videos such as HIIT workouts, as well as workouts for beginners and seniors!

Seen on Screen Dance Classes

Seen on Screen is a London based dance school which empowers women with sassy dance routines taught by instructors who’ve worked with some of the biggest artists in the world. Through School of SOS on Instagram, they’re offering free daily classes which will leave you feeling bold and brimming with confidence. There’s a new timetable each week, and you’ll be able to view each Instagram Live class for 24 hours. However, if you want to access exclusive classes you can also subscribe to their Patreon.

Core Power Yoga

If yoga is more your thing, then you definitely need to check out CorePower Yoga on YouTube. Their channel is packed with an array of videos ranging in length which are suitable for all abilities. Whether you’re looking to workout your whole body or simply enjoy some meditation, classes are live streamed daily and are then available to rewatch whenever you want.

Oti Mabuse Dance Classes

Strictly star and reigning champion Oti Mabuse has teamed up with her husband Marius Iepure to give daily dance lessons on YouTube. Whether you want to dance along to songs from musicals or your favourite pop hits, Oti and Marius have something to suit everyone on their channel, offering fun for all the family.

FITSEVENELEVEN

If you’re looking for something a little more hardcore, FITSEVENELEVEN has some incredible exercise routines on its channel including kickboxing and bootcamp. These workouts are only 20-30 minutes long, but will have you giving it your all for the duration. Armed with infectious soundtracks, these workouts will leave you feeling like you can take on anything.
