For those who don’t know, Clevver—a lifestyle, beauty, and news company on YouTube—was forced to cease its content production back in November when its parent company, Defy Media, went under. Now, Hearst Magazines has come to the rescue and Clevver is back in business!
The following return announcement video was posted to Clevver Style’s YouTube channel on April 20, 2019:
One week earlier, however, fans saw a different but equally as exciting announcement video on their News YouTube channel:
We’ve been watching Clevver’s videos for years and were horrified when they were forced to halt production and search for a new parent company. However, now that they’re back—and have been for a month and a half!—we wanted to help spread the word about their return and their content. Without further ado, let’s get into it.
1. Everyone’s personalities!
This may sound cheesy, but all of the hosts that make their videos so entertaining shine with their personalities. Whether Erin and Lorryn are relating about being from the South or whether Drew and Naz are simply making an amazing dynamic duo, each host at Clevver shines in their own right and it bleeds off of the screen, entrancing viewers.
2. The flow of pop culture news!
News today is constant, but Clevver News keeps everyone consistently up to date with the latest Hollywood news along with any rumors that prove to potentially be true. Here, Emile and Sussan hold down the Internet with everything you need to know.
3. The various shows on Clevver Style!
Clevver Style is home to many of the shows that truly entice their viewers. Beauty Break, Beauty Trippin’, and Cheat Day, for example, are all fascinating in their own ways, whether it’s because of insane food combinations or the latest beauty tech that’s breaking the market. They’re informative, but most importantly, they’re
4. The relatability!
Where Clevver’s hosts have become celebrities/influencers in their own rights, they remain a level of relatability that one may not see in other YouTube channels. Their content is accessible to everyday people in that they are honest in product reviews, showcase a myriad of products/foods/etc. accessible to everyday people, and incorporate relatability/accessibility into their speech. For example, in Dirty Laundry, where the hosts judge celebrity fashion at red carpets, their speech often reflects the dichotomy between everyday wear and red carpet wear.
5. They now have a bigger budget!
Various hosts have lovingly joked about this in their new videos, but it’s true, and it shows! For example, the following video shows Erin and Sinead testing Kylie Jenner’s new face products right after their launch, which probably would not have happened if Clevver was still owned by Defy Media.
If we’ve piqued your interest, you can find Clevver’s videos on their two channels, Clevver News and Clevver Style.
