Weekly Series: 5 Must-Read Books

Today, we’re getting into five must-read books:

If a book is well written, I always find it too short.

–Jane Austen

This is a statement I completely agree with. Books allow your mind to drift to a sometimes sleepy and relaxed, sometimes panic-driven state. May it be a sweet romantic tale set in a mountain village or a brutal dystopian land, one thing I can be certain with. If the book is well written it will always be too short. I’ll be left questioning: Is there another book? What happens to X character? But what about this unfinished subplot?! The following list contains five of my favourite books, all of which hold a special place in my hear for different reasons. How many have you read?

The Great Gatsby – F. Scott Fitzgerald

“I was within and without, simultaneously enchanted and repelled by the inexhaustible variety of life.”

The Colour Purple – Alice Walker

“Everything want to be loved. Us sing and dance and holler, just trying to be loved.”

1984 – George Orwell

“Who controls the past controls the future. Who controls the present controls the past.”

Atonement – Ian McEwan

“A person is, among all else, a material thing, easily torn and not easily mended.”

The Gallagher Girls Series – Ally Carter

“Where did you go? When you were looking for me?”
I shifted in his arms, looked into his eyes.
“Crazy.”

I hope you are inspired by this list and come back next week for another list of must read books!
