We talk with FINNEAS about his new single ‘College’ and working with sister Billie Eilish!

With the recent release of his new single ‘College,’ we caught up with FINNEAS, the songwriter and production mastermind of his sister Billie Eilish, who is beginning to take center stage with his own music. We love ‘College’ here at Fuzzable and think it’s the perfect song to listen to as the college season begins. Listen to ‘College’ here!

Hey Finneas! How are you? We hope you’ve had a great summer!

Summer has been SO good! Just got home from a tour across Asia and Hawaii with Billie which felt more like a vacation than work honestly

For any new listeners, how would you describe your sound in 3 words?

Old is New

What is it like working with your sister?

Unique and wonderful and challenging and thrilling and hilarious

Is there any sibling rivalry?

YES! we work together so we can celebrate our victories together

Can you tell us a little more about your new single, “College”?

It was the last song I ever wrote about the first girl I ever fell in love with. She’d moved away to college, we’d broken up, I’d started seeing someone new, then I saw this tidal wave of super mean posts and tweets online that were clearly directed at me and the girl I’d started seeing. I wrote this one as a response to all that.

Who is your biggest influence? We think ‘College’ has some Bastille vibes to it!

I love bastille’s voice so much! thank you! Heavily influenced forever by The Beatles but this song has a lot of “Make Out” Era LANY influence actually. Paul is just so straight up with all his lyrics, it made me want to be too

Do you have any upcoming concerts planned?

……yes….. can’t announce jusssst yet but yes…..

What’s the best part about touring?

The shows are the best high in the world. I don’t do drugs because I don’t need em.

What is one song you wish you had written?

Greek Tragedy by the Wombats

How can fans keep up to date with you?

I tweet WAY too much (@FinneasOConnell)
