As the world begins to spiral into a place of uncertainty, we look more than ever for a place where we can escape, somewhere full of fun & adventure, as well as breathtaking scenery and storytelling. Today at Fuzzable; we look into the wonderful world of Naughty Dog as the company brings us the awesome game franchise that is “Uncharted”, but today we are looking at “Drake’s Fortune”
Naughty Dog is known for creating beautiful stories and intriguing characters, the adventures of Nathan Drake and his friends are no exception. The player controls Nathan (Nate) Drake as he climbs his way through stunning locations, trying to solve some elaborate puzzles as he searches for some of the most valuable and unattainable treasures. Drake is very knowledgeable in various types of history and is exceptionally skilled in combat and climbing; not only is he a lot of fun to play with for the combat and action, but he is also hilarious! Nolan North provides the voice and motion capture for the witty hero. The player enjoys the sarcasm and banter between Drake and his friends, North holds his own as he creates a amusing and whimsical character, making the game more and more replayable with every joke and gag!
Nathan would not be able to get anywhere without the aid of his friends. Throughout the game, the player will meet some incredible characters who help our protagonist through his journey. From long time friend and “business” partner, Victor Sullivan (Sully) played by Richard McGonagle to ballsy reporter and love interest Elena Fisher played by Emily Rose. The chemistry and banter between these characters is just a joy for everyone to watch. As the characters search for these treasures trouble is sure to come there way, and believe us when we say: they get in a LOT of trouble!
The story is very well executed as it truly prepares the player for a great experience. Having found ancestor; Sir Francis Drake’s coffin at the bottom of the ocean off the coast of Panama, Nate comes in possession of his journal, detailing his final adventure as he searched for the lost city of El Dorado the “City of Gold” with the treasure not being found, Nate and Sully decide to continue the search. With Elena being a reporter, Sully is unsure of having her on the side as it may bring even more attention than the inevitable competition that there will be for the search of the treasure. Little did he know what a huge asset she would become to the group. Outnumbered and outgunned Nathan and the gang must fight there way to the treasure.
The parts most loved by fans of the game is Nathan’s humanity. He could easily be an unlovable and very serious treasure hunter, where in reality; he is human, he cries through his pain, he struggles and he has realistic troubles like everyone else, he is also a hilarious and quick-witted man, made even more loveable with Nolan North’s unforgettable performance.
We want to thank Naughty Dog for creating the beautiful scenery and story, this game truly brings a breath of fresh air to the world that we are currently living in.
Drake’s Fortune and the equally incredible sequels are available basically everywhere, so if you are looking for an adventure, absolutely buy these games!
