Review: The QB Bad Boy and Me by Tay Marley

Tay Marley wears many hats: bibliophile, entrepreneur, wife, mother, and featured Wattpad author.

Her whirlwind journey on Wattpad begins in 2017 and led to one hundred thousand dedicated followers, a five-part series, and three stand-alone books, including her breakout story, The QB Bad Boy and Me, which have amassed over forty-one million reads on the platform.

The QB Bad Boy and Me tells the story of Quarter Back Drayton and Cheerleader Dallas. Everything changed the day Drayton Lahey crashed into Dallas’s life…

Sparks fly between Dallas Bryan, a no-nonsense cheerleader with her eyes on a CalArts dance scholarship, and Archwood High’s bad-boy quarterback, Drayton Lahey. She’s convinced they’re wrong for one another and is intent on proving that she can resist his brooding attitude, impressive abs, and all-around hotness. But when Drayton falls for her, their relationship takes a turn for the intense—in ways neither could have anticipated.

It sounds a really cliche plotline. We know…..QB meets Cheerleader, lots of angst and they eventually fall in love. And it sort of is, but that’s what makes it good.

The way the main characters act with the parental figures to me sometimes is a little too rude as there doesn’t seem to be any repercussions for how they act towards them when we all know if you talked back to parental figures while in high school you are grounded.

This story though is a really nice read. It’s got an easy plot that you don’t really have to think about, that gently sweeps you along, letting you escape for a while. It’s one to take on holiday!

You can pre-order The QB Bad Boy and Me here. It will be released on August 13!

Let us know at @Fuzzable if you are adding The QB Bad Boy and Me to your reading list this summer!
