Today, we bring to you the best news in ages: pumpkin spice lattes, better known simply as PSLs, have returned to Starbucks for the upcoming fall and holiday season. Surely this is a sign that the incessant heat we’ve been experiencing will retreat, and autumn will appear in full force!
PSLs offer the perfect blend of espresso, milk, and flavor, with the spicy notes of cinnamon and nutmeg always being spot on. Starbucks originally introduced their pumpkin spice latte in 2003, and it has continuously evolved ever since – and for good reason, for the taste of the drink has noticeably gotten better through the years (not that it was ever bad, mind you).
A host of competitions have entered the pumpkin game over the years, including American company Dunkin Donuts, which has their own pumpkin drink called the Pumpkin Swirl Latte. Dunkin’s drink is tasty in its own right, but Starbucks in our minds still holds the crown for their recipe. However, we’re excited to see all of the other pumpkin-related foods and drinks that come to restaurants and grocery stores this year, for they’re aways a treat to delve into.
Now that Starbucks is carrying their decadent pumpkin spice syrup again, what are you excited to try it in? In addition to the classic PSL, we at Starbucks love adding the pumpkin flavor to our chai tea lattes and cold brew!
