Philip: My 2017 in pictures

2017 has been an interesting year for me, like most people it’s had its ups and its downs. But ultimately everything that we experience, good and bad, helps make us who we are.

Here are 5 photographs that best sum up my year…

‘One Last Time’

‘Dangerous Woman Tour’ Manchester Arena

Monday, May 22nd 2017 is a night in my life that I will never really be able to forget.

But compared to those who were killed or injured on that evening in Manchester, my experience was nothing, I was so lucky to have the luxury of being able to go home at the end of the night.

However being there, feeling what I felt and seeing what I saw will stay with me for a long time, maybe even forever.

To those of you who didn’t make it home, I’m so sorry.

‘To Travel Is To Evolve.’

Playa de la Barceloneta

Growing up, travelling or going abroad was something that never really interested me.

I’m not a fan of flying, I suffer from terrible motion sickness and I hate feeling like a tourist in a new town.

All of that changed however, two years ago when I visited Paris and New York in the summer of 2015.

This past August, I travelled to Barcelona for a week and had the most wonderful time.

Live Music

Drake, The Weekend, John Legend, Celine Dion, Due Lipa, JP Cooper, Little Mix, Rag’n’Bone Man & Mariah Carey

As a music lover, one of my favourite things to do is attend live shows and concerts, and this year I have been lucky enough to see the following artists live in concert:

Drake
LeAnn Rimes
The Weeknd
Ed Sheehan
Bruno Mars
Ariana Grande
Take That
Jorja Smith
Celine Dion
John Legend
Dua Lipa
JP Cooper
Rag’n’Bone Man
Little Mix
Mariah Carey
Louise Redknapp

‘Beauty is… me & you’

What is life without love?

One thing I have truly tried to learn to do this year is to love myself.

I can look at a photograph of myself or stand in front of the mirror for hours on end and very easily find fault with the reflection I see staring back at me, and that’s not healthy.

Whilst at an art gallery in London this summer, I stumbled across the quote captured in the photograph above and it literally stopped me in my tracks.

In 2017, there truly is no definitive definition of what constitutes as ‘beautiful’ – so just embrace who you are, embrace how you look, and go out into the world and enjoy life.

‘Christmas Time in London’

I LOVE LONDON!!

It is one of my favourite cities in the world, so being able to spend Christmas in the British capital this year was really special for me.
