With his natural talent for acting, and larger than life on screen presence we cannot but help but fall in love with each and every single on of his movies.
So, in honour of today being his 57th birthday, we here at Fuzzable are taking a look back at some of our all time favourite Johnny Deep movies…
Number 5: Pirates of the Caribbean (Captain Jack Sparrow)
Now we just couldn’t have a Johnny Depp movie countdown without mentioning Captain Jack Sparrow could we?! That’s right, at no. 5 we meet Captain Jack Sparrow, star of the Disney movie series, Pirates of the Caribbean. The swashbuckling adventures of Captain Jack Sparrow are destined to go down in history, and we love every moment of every film as well as the huge personality Depp brings to this role!
Number 4: Alice in Wonderland (The Mad Hatter)
Johnny Depp is widely known for playing some pretty quirky and unique characters, with The Mad Hatter being maybe his most outlandish role of all! At no. 4 we have the much loved live action remake of Disney’s Alice in Wonderland. Depp brings so much life and personality to his role of the Mad Hatter – you almost be forgiven for forgetting who the actor is, we couldn’t imagine anyone else better suited to playing this part!
Number 3: Sleepy Hollow (Ichabod Crane)
At no. 3 we have the incredibly haunting gothic horror, Sleepy Hollow. Playing the role of Detective Ichabod Crane, Depp displays a great depth of fragility and bravery to proceedings. Tasked to identify why the town of Sleepy Hollow is experiencing brutal decapitations, Crane comes face to face with pure evil it’s self, in the form of the legendary Headless Horseman. Can he solve the mystery and save the town? You’ll have to watch to find out!
Number 2: Sweeney Todd – The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (Sweeney Todd)
At no. 2 we have one of the darkest, and most famous musicals of all time – the terrifying tale of Sweeney Todd, The Demon Barber of Fleet Street. Taking a step back from colourful and fun loving characters, this musical shows Depp starring as a sinister and merciless serial killer with a impulse to murder. We all need a haircut during this lockdown, but this is one barber we would not like to visit!
Number 1: Edward Scissorhands
Drum roll please… sitting pretty at no. 1 we have the heartwarming tale of Edward Scissorhands! This highly loved fantasy romance stars Depp as an artificial man, an unfinished creation who has scissor blades instead of hands. Pulling on our heartstrings we see Edward face the struggles of life as an innocent gentle man, cursed with weapons as limbs. Edward Scissorhands is a household favourite and will stay with you long after the credits start to roll. Yet again another unique character portrayed superbly by the magnificent talents of Johnny Depp!
