January 13th, marks the unofficial holiday known as Make Your Dreams Come True Day. The origin of this holiday might be unknown, but it’s meaning is clear. Today is a day to forget your fears and your doubts. It’s a day to do all you can to make your dreams a reality.
Dreams can be hard to define accurately. They’re “a wish your heart makes,” and they’re what keeps you going when things get tough. We all have dreams and those dreams are things we hope to achieve one day. After all, we’ve all been taught that, in the words of Walt Disney, “All our dreams can come true if we have the courage to pursue them.”
It’s a quote we’ve heard before and I don’t know about you, but it fuels me with a determination to make my dreams come true. Except I, along with a lot of other people, don’t necessarily have the courage to pursue my dreams. And that’s what today is about.
Don’t let your dreams be dreams. That’s the meaning of Make Your Dreams Come True Day.
For many, the beginning of a new year symbolizes a new opportunity to make the most of our lives. Yet after a few weeks that feeling goes away and we continue to live dreaming, without actually doing anything to make our dreams a reality. So today, instead of sitting around and doing nothing at all, do something that’ll bring you closer to achieving your goals. It’s a simple thing to say, but what exactly can be done to make your dreams a reality?
Not giving up on them, or simply expecting them to magically come true on it’s own is one thing. Push yourself to create short-term goals so that your dream isn’t so much just a dream anymore, but a goal.
It’s the first month of 2017, so start this year off by doing all you can and tell of get one step closer to achieving your dreams. Go chase your dreams, and may they all come true.
