Katrina: My 2017 in pictures

2017 has been an odd year. Full of moments ranging from the good, the bad to the downright bizarre, it’s been a memorable year to say the least. Focusing on the positives and some of the crazy events alone, for me it’s probably been one of the best years.

I’ve already dissected large chunks of the year in my December blog. However, I thought I would also share with you some images which define my year.

Here are five pictures I’ve chosen which sum up my 2017.

1. All the stars are coming out tonight, they’re lighting up the sky tonight for you

Take That at London’s O2 Arena

I’ve been to many gigs this year but Take That’s Wonderland tour was one of my favourite shows. I went to three tour dates and took this picture at London’s O2 Arena during ‘Rule The World’. There is nothing more special than the arena all lit up when your favourite band is singing such an iconic song. It’s truly a beautiful sight.

2. Getting the YouTuber goss at HelloWorld

Interviewing KSI at HelloWorld

This year, I’ve been fortunate to interview various singers, actors and YouTubers and each one has been an amazing experience. In October, I had the opportunity to do press at HelloWorld and throughout the day I interviewed several YouTubers. One of them was KSI, and a few days after the event my friend sent me this photo as I’d made it into his vlog!

3. Somewhere where the sun is shining bright

View of Barcelona from Gaudi’s House

In April, I went to Barcelona on a short break. The city is easily one of the most beautiful in the world and in all honesty this photo, taken from outside Gaudi’s house, doesn’t do it justice. Whilst I enjoyed the hustle and bustle of the city and its many incredible attractions, this spot above the city was very peaceful. We were so lucky to have scorching hot weather, even though I was extremely burnt when I came home.

4. Bird is the word

meeting Jay McGuiness in Dublin

During 2017, I got to meet my favourite celebrity/person, Jay McGuiness, several times. From travelling to Dublin to watch Big, to bumping into him during my birthday weekend at Fusion, to even visiting three cities to watch Rip It Up, he’s been a prominent part of my year. There’s nothing better than a Bird hug, so this picture captures one of my favourite things, and moments of the year, perfectly.

5. A dream is a wish your heart makes

Disneyland Paris

In November, I was surprised with a very late birthday trip to Disneyland Paris. Not only did I get to meet my favourite character, Marie from the Aristocats, but I truly fell in love with the place. I appreciated it far more at the age of 26 than when I last went (when I was around 10). Everything about Disneyland Paris is so magical, and I never wanted to leave. This picture is of the fireworks at the end of our last night. The show was absolutely stunning and one day I will return to experience the magic all over again.
