Up-and-coming singer and songwriter Kat Saul has just released her new single “Middle Name,” and despite being only her fourth single, the track is a testament to her raw talent to entice listeners.
As you can hear in the above video, this singer-songwriter is not lacking in the talent department. Rather, listeners can hear the inherent precision and charm layered within the track. It’s whimsical yet refined, and it’s this balance that create an experience unique to this single – and it sets this track aside from others released so far in 2019 in an awe-inducing fashion.
Where the track at times sounds reminiscent of other popular female acts (the beginning sounds like it could be on a track from Taylor Swift’s Reputation album, while the chorus sounds reminiscent to Camila Cabello and other parts sound like they’re inspired by Charlie XCX), it is this blending of sounds and styles that make the track shine in a particular luster unique to Kat Saul.
More than anything else, though, the track simply put is honest and unapologetically so. Kat Saul may only be twenty-one years old, but the vulnerability shared in her music shows a seasoned musician. This track has us more than excited to see where this singer-songwriter is headed.
Outside of “Middle Name,” Kat has three other stunning songs out. She pops and glides on “Unit 408,” she beautifully rap-sings on “Jericho,” and she charmingly quips on “Nick Miller” (yes, that Nick Miller from New Girl).
With her journey just beginning, you’re going to want to follow Kat on all of her social media to make sure you don’t miss anything from her musical ascension. She can be found @katsaulmusic on both Twitter and Instagram, and she has a professional website. Finally, make sure to purchase and stream her music everywhere you normally find your music, including iTunes, Apple Music, and Spotify.
