If you really want to get into the weight-loss mindset, then there are lots of health blogs with diet tips to add to your bookmarks. Indeed, reading a health and fitness blog every day will not only give you food for thought but it will keep you motivated and inspired to work at it. If you’re always reading interesting content from some of the best weight loss bloggers then you’re naturally going to stay in the zone – make it your effort to spend an hour reading every evening, perhaps when you’re on the train home from college or in your lunch hour at work.
Follow fitness freaks
Another awesome way to stay motivated is to follow some of your favorite fitness fanatics on social media, particularly on YouTube and Instagram where they’ll share advice on the best foods and workouts. From Amanda Bisk and Tone It Up’s Karena and Katrina through to Jessamyn Stanely and Emily Skye, there are so many awesome fit girls and boys on Instagram to keep you on track. Having said that, don’t get carried away when you see these models and influencers – remember you’re probably never going to look like them because it’s their job to look the way they do. Be realistic and set achievable goals to succeed.
Drink more water
Another way to lose weight and perform your best when exercising is to stay hydrated, but so many of us fail to keep our bodies topped up with enough water. Buy a reusable water bottle and stop drinking so much caffeinated coffee and diet cola – such drinks cause us to urinate more and therefore become dehydrated. Stick to water and natural fruit juices all day and limit your intake of fizzy drinks and coffee, and you’ll soon shed the pounds and feel more awake and alert in the process. It’s pretty straightforward, so don’t make an excuse!
Don’t be hard on yourself
It’s so easy to beat yourself up and think that you’re overweight or unattractive, but you should remember that you’re beautiful in your own way. Rather than obsessively focusing on losing weight for your summer holiday, think about ways you can improve yourself – maybe go for a spray tan, have your nails done, and change up your hair. Little things can make a big difference in the way you feel about yourself, and offer a much-needed confidence boost!
