With the summer just around the corner, the chances are that you’ve got a holiday to look forward to. Whether you’re going with family or you’ve booked a break with your best friends, we thought we’d round up some things you need to pack to ensure you have a great time…
Sun cream
Okay, we’re going to sound like your mum when we say this but please don’t forget the sunscreen. It’s so easy to leave your bottle at home because you’re too busy thinking about other things, or you’re struggling for space in your suitcase, but sun cream is the single most important thing you could take with you on holiday, especially when going somewhere sunny.
You can pick up a whole host of different levels of protection depending on your skin type, and some moisturisers and makeup products include SPF in them, but make sure you do your research before you go to avoid getting caught short – and ending up paying over the odds for your sun cream when you could’ve picked it up for a few pounds at a supermarket.
Sunglasses
Okay, now we’ve got the rant out of the way – let’s talk about sunglasses. Again, it’s easy to forget to pack them or buy a cheap pair that aren’t going to offer you any protection from the sun, so make sure you shop around and buy prescription sunglasses if you need them.
We know – they’re expensive, but there’s nothing worse than walking around squinting because you’ve got the sun in your eyes. What’s more, sunglasses last at least a couple of years, so if you buy them now, you’ll be able to take them on lots of holidays in the coming years…
Dressy clothes
Whether you’re going on a beach holiday or you’re camping in the middle of nowhere, don’t forget to pack some dressy clothes to wear on an evening. You might decide to pop out for a fancy meal or simply want to impress your friends and potential future boyfriend, so pack your suitcase full of your favourite clothes. If you’re not sure what sort of dresses you should take with you on a sunny summer holiday, you can’t go too far wrong with a bodycon dress.
Toiletries
Next on our list: don’t forget your favourite toiletries. Stock up on a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner, and treat yourself to some new shower gels, moisturizers and makeup so that you can truly relax and get away from your usual life. Going on holiday is all about having a good time and trying something new, so why not go all-out with your toiletries, too?
Comfy shorts
Finally, don’t underestimate comfort when you’re off on your girly holiday. Sure, you want to pack lots of stylish clothes both for evenings and during the day, but you should also pack a pair of comfortable shorts for walking around town and for your hotel room. There’s nothing worse than sitting in your room uncomfortably wearing jeans or shorts – be kind to yourself!
