Fuzzable Faves: Jedward

Everyone knows the name of the 2009 X Factor stars, Jedward, and the responses are quite often negative. But do they really know what the pair are like, or are they judging the 25-year-olds as the 17-year-old boys from the first audition?

To me, John and Edward Grimes are an inspiration. Right from the start they have had to endure all sorts of hate and bullying online from X Factor fans as they storm through the competition, which can be extremely hard for 17-year-olds to bear. But the pair stayed positive, stayed strong, and slayed their iconic quiff.

No, they’re not the best singers in the world, but they are performers. When you see them live you can feel the energy bursting from the stage and it radiates around the arena. I first saw them live in 2012 with my family, and even my mum agreed that they were the best act she’s ever seen live, and she’s seen artists in the likes of Elton John, The Who, and Madness. It’s because of their energy; their personality rising through their songs.

Since the X Factor, Jedward have released 3 albums, two of which going double platinum in Ireland, and 14 singles. They have also had their own ITV show, Jedward Let Loose; which is where I first fell in love with them.

Jedward Let Loose first aired in October 2010. Having lived with their parents’ full support, the pair are moved into their own apartment and are left to their own devices, having to work out shopping, cleaning, hosting a party, and even how the house works! This show gave me a better insight into who Jedward really were and I was amazed.

I have since been lucky enough to meet them, and found they are even more amazing than I could’ve ever hoped. They held a ‘JedHug Tour’ simply to meet fans from around the world, going from airport to airport seeing over 30 fans each time. They even bought us all lunch!

The main reason they’re my Fuzzable Fave is because they’re always so positive, happy and bubbly, no matter what life throws at them, they love their fans, and they don’t hide behind a stage act; they really do have that much energy!

Now, here’s a little something for you to enjoy and find out how to tell the difference between John and Edward!
