Nothing compares to the life of a fangirl (or fanboy let she not assume). To pretty much anyone who’s never been in a fandom the idea of being in one is out of reach. They don’t understand why anyone would spend their time on social media, running a fan account for their favorite artists, youtubers, books, or shows.
It’s a pity because being in a fandom is an inexplicable sort of incredible. Nothing is better than the wait for new music or for the next book in your favorite series. Nothing is better than the feeling you get when you finally get to see the masterpiece your idols have been working on. I could list a thousand reasons why joining a fandom is one of the best things that could ever happen to you, but that would take a long time. So instead, here are nine reasons the life of a fangirl is marvelous.
1. The content.
The biggest reason why being in a fandom is a wonderful thing is the reason you join a fandom. The music our favorite artists make, the books our favorite authors write, the videos our favorite YouTubers upload, are what make fandoms wonderful. Nothing is better than the art that led us to join a fandom.
2. The art.
Art inspires art. The fan art, fan fiction, covers, and YouTube videos created by fans are one of the best things about being in a fandom.
3. The moments.
What’s better than the surreal moments when our favorite artists tweet us? Or the endless fanrling in metal?
4. The friends.
Internet friends are probably the best part of being in a fandom. Even though they might live thousands of miles away, maybe even on the other side of the world, they’re always there for you. They never disappoint and you can trust them with anything. They’re just as good, sometimes even better, than a real life friend.
5. The group chats.
The only thing better than having an internet friend is having a whole group of internet friends who love and support each other.
6. The waiting.
The most frustrating part of being in a fandom is waiting for new music, books, videos, or seasons. In the end, though, it’s always worth it.
7. The words and lyrics.
The beautiful written, spoken, and sung words from our idols that inspire us in a million different ways are yet another magnificent thing about being a fangirl.
8. The support.
Fangirls recieve endless support from their internet friends, followers, and idols. No matter what there’s always someone there for them willing to help in ways no one in real life ever could.
9. The… everything?
Okay, maybe this is an exaggeration, but everything about being in fandom is incredible. It’s like having a second family.
Being in a fandom is one of the best things that’s ever happened to me and if you’re in one too you’ll probably agree with me. If you’re not in a fandom though, and you’re considering joking one then I have one piece of advice for you I need the form of a Daniel Howell gif.
