*Taps microphone* Is this thing on?
Okay, by now you’ve probably established that I’m the girl who reads a lot of poetry and writes reviews on the them after. Right? Wrong.
There’s more than meets the eye remember? I’m also the girl who has a strange obsession with poetry, and often catches herself writing some.
Just an example of my work.
But there’s also more to me than just poetry, and since this is a Fuzzable blogs: Readers meet Writers, I figure you should probably get well acquitted with all the things that make me awkward.
So here’s one of hell of an awkward introduction, that I hope puts a smile on your face (even if it’s fake).
Hi I’m Ellie, and I’m a 16 year old high school student from Toronto, Ontario, Canada. I’m a writer, creator, poet, musician, book and band freak, and amateur photographer.
Music has always been a huge part of my life and upbringing. It’s the one thing that I rely on to get me out of my funk, and it’s always been there for me. Over the years, I’ve developed new attachments to different genres and this started when I was about 4 (when I started singing). Yes, I’m a huge One Direction, 5 Seconds of Summer, and Hey Violet fan, in case you were wondering.
Music is the only thing that truly makes sense to me in this crazy and insane world we live in; but now I’ve got writing to add to this beautiful mixture.
My journey with writing started last year actually, when I started writing for a celebrity news website called CelebMix in February. From there, my passion for writing escalated to writing more complex stories on Wattpad (fanfics, short stories, etc), to where I found my passion for reading and writing poetry in July.
Now I’ve always been a book freak and a fan of reading, but poetry just gives me a rush (a high I guess you can call it), and it fills this space inside of me, that’s always been empty. I don’t know what it is that I love so much about poetry, but I’m glad I chose to dive into the subject and even writing as a whole.
With writing, I discovered a new way to express myself – my wants, my needs, my passions and aspirations, the things that make me who I am – without writing, I’m not sure where I would be if I couldn’t express myself using this tool.
Now onto more creative things about me:
I do have a Youtube channel and am currently in the process of editing my very first video. I’ve wanted to be a Youtube creator for a while, but I’ve been insecure about posting videos of me for as long as I can remember. I guess I was scared that my channel would flop, and I’d make a complete fool out of myself.
I’m happy to say that I’ve mostly gotten over those insecurities and fears (although I still have my doubts), and I’m excited to post a lot of content on my channel.

I did briefly talk about music, but I did not talk about the fact that I play guitar. Yes ladies and gents, I play the guitar. I’ve been on and off with the instrument for years (since I was in 7th grade), but I permanently started playing again last year as well. I must say, one of the best decisions I’ve made in my lifetime. Seriously, you can never go wrong with the guitar (TRY IT!).
And lastly, to wrap things up I will briefly describe to you my passion for photography and how I fell in love with it. Believe me, I’ve always been fascinated by the art of photography. And yes, anyone can take a photo but not everybody has a passion for it.
I often find myself taking more pictures of the sky and nature than I do of myself (most of the photos on my Instagram feed are of things, and nature, and other things that aren’t me), but that’s probably because I’m captivated by the beauty of it all.
What can I say? I’m an awkward nerd, but if I wasn’t then I wouldn’t be who I am. I’m not sure how much of an awkward introduction this was for you, but I believe I’m just about done!
