Fuzzable Blogs: December 9th – Reflection

2018, oh it has been an interesting one, hasn’t it? I honestly don’t know where to even start with this year. It wasn’t by any stretch been my worst year, I’m still glaring at 2016 for that but I guess it hasn’t been my absolute best either. Although, saying that, I’ve had so many good things happen this year, I’ve been to so many gigs, seen so many amazing films, been to Disneyland twice and started planning our 2020 Orlando holiday so all in all, it hasn’t been all that bad I suppose. I can’t believe we’re already at the end though, some months of this year feel like they went on forever but honestly, wasn’t it September yesterday?

Anyway, my February blog this year was about my goals for 2018 so I thought I’d talk about those today and if I achieved them because that’s what December is for, right?

Complete My Goodreads Challenge

At the start of the year, I set my Goodreads reading challenge at 50 books and I can happily say, I have completed that challenge! As of today, I am reading my 161st book of the year which is crazy to me! I never thought I’d be able to read that many books this year as it’s been a busy one but here we are. I’ve loved so many of the books I’ve read this year which I will be talking more about when I release my top 18 of 2018 list which I am currently working on!

Reading is the biggest form of escapism for me and it just makes me so happy. I love reading about so many different worlds and just being transported there! The biggest book I read this year was most definitely Queen of Air and Darkness by Cassandra Clare and let me tell you guys, it was amazing! You can also follow my Goodreads here!

Settle Into My New University

A big thing for me through this year has been finding a new university. I started at University of Lincoln in September last year and thought I had found where I was meant to be. Unfortunately, soon found out that I didn’t like it at all, I liked the few friends I had but absolutely hated not being around my family and really struggled. Although, I did get through the whole year, I knew I was going to be moving universities and starting somewhere new this year from first year again and I’m glad I did!

I can truly say I absolutely love my new university and am enjoying studying there so much! Not only did I change universities, I also changed courses from Journalism to Media and Communication specialising in PR and it’s the best choice I’ve ever made for myself. Yes, it has been stressful but that’s because I’m striving to do so well as I love it so much. I’ve met some amazing people on this course and I am loving the work so much. Although, let’s see how I feel at the end of third year right?

Take Care of Myself More

Self care is so important for everyone. We all need to just take a step back and take an evening for ourselves sometimes, take a long shower or bath, watch our favourite TV show, movie or kick back with a great book. I’ve always been bad at this, I always put myself under a lot of pressure to carry on doing what needs to be done rather than take time for myself.

Not going to lie, I’ve not completed this goal to the stretch I wanted to. Between work and university projects, it’s been hard to put time aside to myself but I am getting better at it. Although, the other night I was working on an essay until half two in the morning but I’ve now finished it and it’s done so hopefully, I can take more time to myself. It’s just such an important thing to do as your mind deserves some time off too guys. So, next year, I am definitely going to be making this a top priority!

So, there we have it guys. There’s my goal reflection of 2018. Overall, it’s been a good year I think. I have achieved things I didn’t think I’d be able to and definitely learnt a few things about myself along the way.

This also ends my personal monthly blogs until 2019 but look out as I am planning to put out a top 18 of 2018 book list and a top 10 of movies of the year too!
