Hey guys, it’s Michele again, but this time I’m writing to you at 3 am, and honestly, that has become my new normal this semester.
In the last few days, I have gotten little to no sleep, and that is because it is the end of the semester, which means final projects and papers are due. On top of that, I have also really been putting effort in preparing for my future. For starters, I finally made a LinkedIn profile, and I’ve also been attending career workshops at school, as well as working on fixing my résumé.
Oh, and one more thing…I’ve landed my first internship. It will be this summer in Brooklyn, New York.
When I received the email, it was just another reminder that all of the work that I’m doing has a purpose. Of course, I am excited to do the internship, but I am also extremely nervous. Working for a publication in a city is my dream, and being able to experience what it’s like to work for one in New York is an amazing opportunity that I am very thankful for.
Finding something that you truly have a passion for is the best feeling, but it’s not enough to just want something, you need to work for it. That is why you should try to do something productive each day, even if it’s just something small, that will help you reach that goal.
Since I have class in just a few hours, I think I will just end this blog post here, but expect to read some articles from me in the future (probably after finals) about college, internships, etc.
Make sure to follow me on Twitter at @michmendezmedia!
See you next month.
