In my very first blog post, I mentioned I didn’t want to give you any advice or teach you any lessons. Why? Perhaps because you hear them every day and everywhere or maybe I am just not very old and wise to do that yet. Despite that, today I would like to try and see what happens.
For the last couple of weeks, things have been going unusually well for me. So very well that sometimes I even feel like I need to buy a lottery ticket. Oh and just so you can better understand why I used the word unusually... Well, once I realised I forgot my concert tickets while waiting in line to get to the venue and I was hours away from home. Yep, and things like that used to happen to me almost every single day. So what happened that my life has changed so drastically? I bought a magic wand? Nah.
The truth is, a couple of weeks ago I started doing things I never thought I would. It’s that simple. I began reading a book that even one of my school teachers found too difficult to understand, I messaged a friend I haven’t spoken to in two years, I applied for a position I never thought I would because I never thought I was worth it and guess what? I finished the book and loved it, I met a friend I messaged and got a position I never thought I would. Long story short, I simply stepped out of my comfort zone and, oh boy, that felt bloody good.
You have to open your eyes and realize that a broken nail or headphones, an argument with a friend or even failed exams are not the end of the world. A broken nail can easily be fixed as well as a broken pair of headphones can be exchanged for a new one and an argument with a friend? What argument? Just talk to him/her and it will all be forgotten. If I (a shy, awkward and anxious human being) was courageous enough to speak to my crush and find out that he likes me back, believe me, you can too.
You see, the truth is that your mind is a very powerful thing. If you want something with all your heart (it doesn’t matter how silly your dream is!) and start taking small steps towards your goal, sooner or later you will achieve it. I promise.
There’s an old saying:
“if you never try, you’ll never know”
It is always better to try and fail than never to try at all and then regret what you could have done but haven’t. Life is not perfect. It has its ups and downs, but without pain and sadness, you’d never know what joy is and without ugliness, you wouldn’t know beauty. The same thing applies to taking risks. If you don’t take risks, you’ll never know what’s on the other side of the door. You won’t move forward, make any progress and you won’t be happy. Simple as that. Never forget that breaking your own mold can only make you stronger and more confident.
Remember, It’s only your positive mind and thoughts that make you lucky and happy. It’s is not magic. I promise.
