Dougie Poynter to Release ‘Plastic Sucks! You Can Make A Difference!’

As McFly jumped into the spotlight back in 2004 with their debut single “5 Colours In Her Hair,” they already set the record straight of becoming the youngest band with their first single straight up to no. 1 of the charts, after none other than The BEATLES!

The circumstances for McFly to take over this famous title goes back to the age of their youngest member back then. Dougie Poynter was only 15 when McFly started their career with this milestone.

Sixteen years later McFly is a band no one is able to ignore. These four boys became established musicians with millions of records sold and various tours and awards. In 2018, the band announced a break which would be used to pursue various project for each band member. These include books, dancing, musicals, and solo music.

One member of the band whose project Fuzzable wants to get a closer look at is none other than Dougie Poynter, the crazy bass player with his love for lizards. He is, in the meantime, also a songwriter, fashion model, clothing designer, author, actor, and philanthropist – and he has tackled the task to make the world a better place!

Plastic Sucks! You Can Make A Difference! Is the title of his upcoming nonfiction book, which is going to be released in September 2019.

The guess is in the title! As Galaxy Defenders, as McFly fans title themselves, we are here to give this so important topic and Dougie’s part to it a big shoutout!

Nature is our responsibility. Nature could easily survive without the human species. Fact: The human is damaging and destroying nature. The one thing every single one of us should be aware of is: We have a deadline to catch! It won’t take too long anymore until all natural resources will be used and won’t come back. The other thing we should think of, we should care about for already at least 30 years: We are drowning in plastic! Yes, we think, it’s a practical thing to use and then throw away, but exactly this last step is what we have to stop. And it only needs small changes in our daily lives to reduce it and do our bits to save our planet. We might not make it all on our own, but we are able to start. We MUST start NOW!

It is more or less an emergency call to wake up and do our bits; it won’t help if everyone of us thinks  “others will do it,” right? RIGHT! So, let’s transform into real Galaxy Defenders! Let’s jump on Dougie’s train and let’s start to change the world and make it as plastic-free as possible!

Dougie points out how damaging plastic is and shows amazing alternatives, which won’t make our lives difficult if we switch and use them. Just a few examples include:

Don’t buy your food on the go and throw the plastic wrapping away! Cook at home and use microwave save glass pots to take your food to work. You will save money and reduce the need for plastic! Carry a tote bag in your handbag! Plastic bags might come handy, but tote bags are, without a doubt much more nature-friendly.

The next few, you’ll see explained by Dougie himself:

To get the named products in the video check out the links below: The bamboo toothbrushthe reusable cup (there are so many out there, but this is a new favorite and it does save you money at some coffee shops), Can O’Water, and the chewing gum!

I love writing, music, especially concerts and books!
In my spare time you will find me at my favourite bookstore checking on all the new releases, at a coffee shop reading or writing my own little bits and pieces. In that time, I mostly listen to my favourite songs by McFly, 5 Seconds Of Summer, One Direction, Ed Sheeran, Green Day, The Rolling Stones or the Beatles.
And I LOVE to wear something with stripes and polka dots!

The ‘Spyro Reignited Trilogy’ is everything we’ve wanted (and needed)
