Who is Maren Morris and why do we have a crush on her?
Maren Larae Morris was born on the 10th of April 1990 in Arlington, Texas. Working as a songwriter, she’s known in the industry since 2011, writing for names such as Tim McGraw and Kelly Clarkson. Her breakthrough as a solo artist took place in 2015 when she released her single ‘My Church’ in digital form and received 2.5 million streams, garnering a big label’s attention, leading Maren to finally sign her record deal later the same year.
After her win at the Country Music Awards as the Best Newcomer in 2016, she also bagged a significant win at the Grammy as the Best Country Solo Performance.
Since 2018, she is married to the country-singer & songwriter Ryan Hurd, who we also know from his appearance in Maren’s music video to her single ‘Rich’.
An individual as hardworking as Maren, the artist has been inspiring us since debut, giving us songs worth cherishing. Be it in her music videos or her moments at the red carpet and during the performance, Morris has always left her fans spellbound.
Seeing Maren in action
Her collaborative singles have helped spread awareness of her talent across the globe, with people blaring their headphones with addictive “The Middle” and “Seeing Blind”, the two singles Maren worked on with Zedd and Horan respectively. Unafraid of experimenting with her art, she mixes her prowess as a country artist in other genres, making fans look forward to surprises she would throw at them.
Girl: The World Tour 2019 started off in Chicago on March 9th 2019 – one day before the album ‘Girl’ hit No. 1 of the US country charts. The Tour ended after 65 shows in on the 16th of November 2019 in Minneapolis.
Being one of the most successful singer & songwriters, seems to make it impossible for Maren to stay in touch with her fans.
But no!
It doesn’t matter how big or small the venue is, the singer always ensures her fans a chance to get a Meet & Greet! Being one of the lucky ones who had the chance to meet Maren, I can say from personal experience: She’s all laidback, funny and bubbly, just like we also see her on stage.
In a matter of a good hour we got a Q&A, autographs and pictures for everyone.
Having Maren promoting a single like ‘Girl’, which talks about the moments even even the strongest girls and women on this planet go through the bad days and sometimes have to fight to get up again and continue with life, is one of the most amazing encouragements we can get today.
We all know that in a society likes ours how difficult it can be to be a female, but Maren send us all her strength and positivity in this song, so let’s turn it up, make sure we get our feet back on the ground and let’s fight through the days which don’t seem to be our friend. We are good enough the way we are and we have all the right to stand up for what we want to achieve. Maren got our back!
