No bullet journal is complete without snazzy titles and amazing typography. I’m here to give you a run-down of my top tips for perfecting your cursive, and creating beautiful titles.
Inspiration
Feeling stuck for ideas and don’t know where to start? Head straight over to Pinterest! Simply search for images such as ‘bullet journal titles’, ‘cursive/ pretty/ bold alphabet’ or just plain old ‘typography’ and you’ll be flooded with brilliant inspiration!
Practice
The best way to perfect your handwriting skills and try out new fonts is to practice! I like to grab an old notebook and re-write phrases to see if a font ‘works’ for me. I prefer to do this outside of my bullet journal in order to 1) decide if the font is too complicated for everyday use in the journal, and 2) see if the style fits the vibes of my current journal spread!
You can also check out handwriting practice sheets available for free to print from a variety of sites across the web. I particularly like Papel & Co’s versions which you can find here.
Create Your Own Typography Style
When scrolling through Pinterest and Instagram Studyblrs it can become very tempting to simply copy another person’s text or handwriting. However, remember to take the time to recognise this is your bullet journal! Whilst perfecting a complete replica of an amazing font can make your bullet journal look good, try to add your own flair!
