After previously reading the awesome first book from this series titled “Panic“, I had to buy this follow-up. “Shock” by K.R. Griffiths is a novella and didn’t take long to read at all. It presents a backstory of a character who will become a main character in the follow-up books.
It jumps you right into the action with a number of characters to get to know. They are a team sent to explore St. Davids to find a guy who is camping out in a bunker.
After reading the first novel, we already know all about Victor and what happened to him. The team come across all the zombies in St. Davids and the whole novella is even more terrifying than the first book of the series.
The narration swaps from a present situation to something in the past of our main character, John. We discover how he became involved in this military team; as well as finding out more about the back story on our evil character from the previous novel.
This novella leaves the reader hanging, right at the end. Luckily, for us, the third story in this series picks up right where this one ends. I’m definitely making my way through The Wildfire Chronicles in a rapid fashion. I need to know what happens next.
