When Clara, Lianna and Gina all find themselves engaged at the same time, it soon becomes clear that things are going to get a little crazy. With Lianna and Gina busy planning their own impending nuptials, it’s not long before Oliver enlists the help of Janie, his feisty Texan mother, to help Clara plan the wedding of her dreams. However, it’s not long before Clara realises that Janie’s vision of the perfect wedding day is more than a little different to her own. Will Clara be able to cope with her shameless mother in law Janie? What will happen when a groom gets cold feet? And how will Clara handle a blast from the past who makes a reappearance in the most unexpected way possible?
Aah Clara’s getting married!!
After many disastrous dates and drunken nights, Clara has finally found the man of her dreams and he’s officially putting a ring on it! Not only is Clara planning for her big day, but her friends Lianna and Gina are also brides to be as well.
When Clara finds out Oliver’s cousins, Dixie, Dolly and Dallas are coming to the wedding and Janie demands they be her bridesmaid, Clara can only dread the wedding more than feel excited for it. But could they possibly be just as bad as her? To add to the dreaded meet up with the three barbies, her romantic interest George, from Meet Clara Andrews is dating Dallas; meaning awkward encounters and pretending to not know one another is in the works. Gina and Lianna insist that Janie plans their weddings for them, so that keeps Janie occupied with any phone calls, barking orders at every person in contact and planning the hen do’s.
Lianna’s partner begins to get cold feet and isn’t so sure on getting married. The wedding is completely cut off when Clara catches Lianna’s partner and Dolly sat in a car together at Gina and Marc’s wedding, where Dolly explains how Dan told her that he wasn’t currently seeing anybody. Lianna over hears the conversation, leaving her completely devastated. With Lianna’s depression taking a toll on everybody’s moods, Janie suggests a girls holiday in Tenerife for a few days for a hen do. Much to Clara’s dismay, Janie has invited Clara’s mother Rosemary, along on the holiday and Clara couldn’t be more horrified over the thought of them two being around each other. Rosemary is a classy, pristine lady who never breaks the rules or does anything too crazy and seeing Janie in her ridiculously tight clothing, makeup plastered all over her face covering up all the surgery and the embarrassing moment of witnessing Janie topless on the beach, Rosemary becomes flustered very quick.
The most hilarious part considering Rosemary and Janie is that they actually begin to really get along. Janie get’s Rosemary on the scotch and gives her a complete makeover including a mini dress, heels, drawn on eyebrows and blonde highlights. Clara couldn’t be more lost for words and I couldn’t have giggled hard enough!
Now for the most magical part, Clara and Oliver’s wedding! What we don’t know until this very moment is that Oliver has been organising the wedding completely by himself and Clara doesn’t have one slight clue! As Clara arrives back in England, the girls direct her to a limo where she is taken to the most extravagant hotel for her hair and makeup done and see’s the gorgeous wedding dress her soon-to-be husband has picked out for her. A beautiful bride has been made and Clara heads down the aisle with her father to say her ‘I do’s’ and we are finally introduced to Clara and Oliver Morgan! My favourite moment was definitely the end as Clara was treated like a Queen and Oliver couldn’t have done anything more perfect. I, myself, would go crazy knowing my partner had planned our wedding without me in case all went wrong, however, Oliver pulled it off and created a day Clara won’t be forgetting anytime soon. This book was filled with absolutely comical moments and I just can never put these books down, bravo Lacey for another outstanding book and thank you for continuously allowing us to experience Clara’s life!
