Fuzzable Blogs: September 23 – Baking as stress relief

Baking as a form of stress relief is probably a cliche by now, but boy has it been effective for me lately. This is my busiest semester yet at university, so learning to make time for myself and things I enjoy is something I’ve been processing as the semester continues.

I have a weekly meeting each Thursday, and for this meeting I’ve taken up baking. I now set aside an hour or two each Thursday (sometimes on Wednesday if I have more time that day) to bake something delicious for the people at my Thursday meeting.

I’ve always loved cooking and baking, but this has been especially fun since it constitutes a break from my hectic schedule. I turn on whatever music I’m loving that day, sip on a nice cup of coffee or tea, and put my all into crafting something delectable.

So far this semester I’ve baked pumpkin cheesecake brownies, lemon cupcakes, perfect vanilla almond buttercream, pumpkin chocolate chip cookies, and Fireball pumpkin pie (though that last one was just for me and my mom when she came to visit). If you can’t tell, I tend to have a hankering for pumpkin and pumpkin spice everything.
