Reigning sportswear giant Adidas and Italian design house Prada are joining forces, to team up for a ‘special project’ collaboration!
The internet has been rife with rumours for some time now, that an unlikely brand collaboration was incoming and while exact details of the project are yet to be announced in their entirety, both Adidas and Prada teased excited customers by posting identical images on their social media pages of two Adidas shoeboxes placed inside a classic Prada shopping bag – one being an Adidas Originals, the other the brands signature three stripes – with caption ‘Coming Soon’.
Set for release in December 2019, Addidas will create two silhouettes which are to be manufactured by Prada, within their factories in Italy. The Second wave of the collaboration is set for release in early 2020 and will feature Prada’s performance sailing footwear from their Luna Rossa line.
Exact design details are still unknown, however the sneaker range is set to be named ‘Adiddas Prada Sailing’ and will be available in White/Metallic alongside a red colourway.
Representatives from Prada have stated that the key aim of this unlikely partnership is to “investigate the realms of heritage, technology and Innovation” and that “‘Prada for Adidas’ is a laboratory of new ideas and a vehicle for creativity.”
We are sure that these sneakers are set to not only be beautiful, but also a creation etched within the timeline of fashion history, that will be remembered for years to come.
